A day off, but why?

WOOHOO!!! It is President's Day!

Another completely arbitrary and meaningless holiday. Since it is a Federal holiday, I get the day off too. I am unsure as to what I want to do. Maybe I'll go see a movie. I find little hoildays liike this perfect times to go and see movies that none of my friends want to see.
Maybe I'll go to a coffee shop and do some writing. Who knows?

I wonder what I am supposed to be doing on President's Day. I remember in elementary school when we would make construction paper masks of different presidents and learn about American History. I don't ever remember there being anything interesting for all ofthe little holidays like Labor Day, President's Day and Veteran's Day.

I think we should try to organize something for each. Hey, there is no real connection between hearts, sentimentality and the St. Valentine's Feast.

I am thinking about exchanging big chocolate work boots on labor day. I think I might have to make them myself, since I have never seen one.

We could all pick our favorite President and dress up like him (yes, I know it is a combination of presidential birthdays crammed into one day)

Veteran's Day could be celebrated by giving all of the veteran's the day off (not everyone, just the veteran's) and they can get free stuff or discounted rates for the movies.

Just a thought...

So, today is S.A.D. (Singles Appreciation Day) or VD for all of you greeting card company puppets.

Ok, maybe that was a bit harsh. Sorry.

Just like every other Thursday I am at work. The weather is how I expected it to be and there are no chubby little kids with wings shooting arrows at people. All in all a pretty lame holiday. I hope something interesting happens.

Maybe a large truck filled with experimental Pheromones could crash into an intersection making everyone fall in love (well, at least the people near the intersection)

or

Maybe the people of Seattle could for one day become completely friendly and approach people of the opposite sex openly and honestly. People will have great conversations and become completely content. Then at night, all of the positive energy will leak into the atmosphere and destroy all of the greenhouse gases.

or

Anything that would justify a holiday.

But then again, I am single and a little frustrated with whole holiday.
